oops
So guess what? I have these waffle irons for band, right? And I wanted to test them and make sure they work, since they haven't been used in many years. So how do I test them? By plugging them in and pouring water on them. If steam comes up, it means the waffle iron is working. The good news, by the way, is that they both work.

But guess what steam does? It sets off smoke alarms. And the only way to get it to stop beeping, apparently, is to rip it off the wall. So now I need to figure out how to put it back.

Oops.

edit: I also burned my fingers and I've had them in cold water for a few hours but they still hurt. Shit.

It'll be even more fun when they start to blister and then you try to play saxophone...

(I burned myself on a coffee pot at work once...)

It's actually turning out to be not that bad, as long as I play with, like, the pad part of the finger, rather than the tip. If that makes sense.
